Charlie Nicholas makes his way back into the media headlines as the former Celtic star responds to Neil Lennon’s statement.

The Celtic manager responded to Charlie’s negative comments regarding Lennon’s feelings towards how the transfer window went for the Scottish Champions.

Now, the anti-Celtic pundit has hit back at the Northern Irishman.

Below were the comments that Nicholas first made:

I said Celtic would go cheap in their pursuit of a left-back. I knew they wouldn’t spend money on a defender that Neil Lennon has been ever so patient for.

I don’t think Lennon has been given much of a helping hand, if I am being honest.

He had to work double time to get anything out of so-called wealthy Celtic. I’d imagine he’ll be pretty annoyed this morning. I am sure he will put on a brave face but I don’t think he will have got anything close to what he was looking for.

Albian Ajeti will get him goals but there are still question marks in other areas of the Celtic team.

Rangers must be looking at it thinking that they got the better of the deals.

Celtic were a stronger side last season. The main positive for Lennon, right, is that all his main players are staying, although I am not convinced Olivier Ntcham, Kris Ajer and Tom Rogic are happy.

In this mad season we have been looking short-term with the rest of the clubs because there is no real money out there.

The Celtic manager then responded to these comments:

Listen, if we were to sign (Lionel) Messi and (Cristiano) Ronaldo, Charlie still would have found fault with it. He’s been negative about the club for years.

But now the idiotic pundit feels the need to continue his feud with fans and the club:

Yes, they may have spent money but have they made the team better than last season? My answer is still no.

David Turnbull was probably around £3million and he is not going to get in the team, Albian Ajeti hardly played at West Ham, but has been the star signing and Vasilis Barkas is no better than Craig Gordon and he is certainly not an upgrade on Fraser Forster.

I will make no apologies for having a go. I have never been one of these social media sheep.

Celtic fans were quick to blast the former Hoops player and hit out at his negativity.
