Spanish Giants Receive Celtic Request For 20 Year Old
Celtic have once again made contact with Atletico Madrid about making a deal to bring Spanish midfielder Rodrigo Riquelme to Glasgow as Lennon still feels he needs added depth in the winger department.
Diego Simeone would be open to allowing the 20 year old to leave on loan as many young players from Spanish football will be looking for first action.
The Spanish Giants would be open to offers on a permanent move but Riquelme has a release clause of around £30 million which Celtic cannot pay, a loan move would be a better deal for the Scottish Champions as they could potentially get him for free next Summer when his contract ends.
Rodrigo Riquelme has only made two appearances for the Spanish side and could easily become a star at a club like Celtic if given a chance.
Most of his action has been with the Atletico Madrid B side in the Spanish Segunda Division B, where he scored five times and made two assists during 2019/20.
Clearly a talented boy and at just 20 he has plenty of time to prove himself and Neil Lennon could be the man to get the best out of him.
Celtic have a nice record of taking players on who don’t get the opportunity to prove themselves and make them stars.
