Former Hearts player Michael Stewart has blasted Celtic defender Simunovic and branded him not good enough for the Scottish Champions after more than one poor display including crashing out of the Europa League to Danish side Copenhagen.

We suppose its a fair judgment of Stewart to make as Simunovic hasn’t really had very many good performances in a Hoops jersey.

Lennon’s major mistake in January was not securing a decent centre back and now he must use Simunovic.

There is the possibility that Lennon could use Elhamed at that position when hes back and able.

“I just don’t think Simunovic is good enough for Celtic, full-stop. Up until a month or so ago he hadn’t played all that much this season through injury.

“And in his absence Ajer and Christopher Jullien appeared to form a solid partnership. More recently they’ve flipped to a back three and that’s got Griffiths back in the side but it has meant Simunovic has played a lot more and unfortunately he’s got nights like Thursday in him.”

We all could see Jozo getting more sloppy as the weeks moved on and Thursday sealed his fate with fans.

The only thing that could save his Celtic career is if the defender plays to perfection the rest of the season.
