Sutton confirms that Celtic have made and offer to former Champions League winner to manage the club.

According to various sources Jose Mourinho has been made and offer to become the next Celtic manager after reports from Irish Independent and what a signing he would be to the Scottish Champions.

Securing the signature of the two-time Champions League winner would no doubt be a coup for the Glasgow club. Former striker Chris Sutton has backed up the reports that contact has been made, even if he does question the chances of the appointment being made.

“It’s so tough to stand here and say who will be the next Celtic manager because it is a big job,” he told BT Sport.

“There’s going to be a lot of managers in for it. Mourinho was heavily linked and I’m led to believe that there was something in that in terms of there being an offer.

“But why would he take the Celtic job? I just don’t get it.

“I don’t know the exact terms but there was an offer.”

Time will only tell if all these stories are true or not but there is a real foundation, and Mourinho hasn’t came out and denied the link between him and Celtic but if its true as much as fans don’t like Jose, hes a top class manager with many contacts in the football world and many players would walk to Glasgow to play under him.

It will most likely be Neil Lennon that will be handed the job on a permanent basis but the question is will Lennon want it now that many fans have have clearly stated that they do not what the Celtic legend to continue to manage the club.
