Chris Sutton doesn’t hold back any verbal punches as he gives his verdict on Celtic’s shock defeat at the hands of Hungarian Champions Ferencvaros as Lennon’s squad say goodbye to any hopes of Champions League football this year.
Sutton, who spent six years in Glasgow, has always been a vocal supporter of the club but is quick to call out the inadequacies and shortcomings emanating from Celtic Park. Last night highlighted a number of them and Sutton summed it up as well as most supporters probably could.
The Celtic manager has once again failed to prepare properly and has paid a heavy price of no elite competition for a second year in a row under his management.
The gaffer isn’t the only one to blame as the players in that squad last night should have still had enough experience and skill to swiftly dispose of the Hungarian club.
Celtic have just signed David Turnbull from Motherwell and fans can only hope its the turning point in such an important season.
