It has been reported that Celtic have sounded out Aaron Hickey and Kevin Nisbet as two potential players for next season.
Hickey currently plays in Italy with Bologna after his move from Hearts. He could be tempted by an offer if Celtic’s interest is concrete and a bid is placed, Hickey is a former trainee at Lennontown and could be a good move for the young full back.
Nisbet has had a good first season in the SPL following his move from Championship club Dunfermline. He was tipped to do well with Hibernian and he has truly showed the hype was right including getting a Scotland cap and he could also earn a spot into the euro squad this summer.
With a lot of player’s futures in the summer up in arms including Leigh Griffiths and Albian Ajeti, Nisbet could be brought in bolster the squad and with no assurances that Edouard will be at Celtic next season the club will be looking at plenty of options.
Celtic have been very wasteful in regards to signing full backs lately and with Boli Bolingoli and Greg Taylor not hitting the heights could Hickey be brought in on a lesser transfer? It would be a gamble but could this be an option for the club?
Adam Montgomery made his debut the other night against St Johnstone and looked comfortable could we see more of him next season? If so would signing Hickey be needed?
