TalkSport’s Alan Brazil has come out with some criticism against Celtic star Oliver Ntcham after the Frenchman’s below par performance against Lille in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Celtic were cruising to a very good 2-0 win against tough French opponents in Lille, in the end the highly rated outfit clawed their way back into the match and it finished 2-2, still a good draw to take home for Neil Lennon.

However, Ntcham’s performance got some attention from the pundit and Celtic fan Mr Brazil as he claims that the Frenchman looked as though he “tools down”.

He said:

“Ntcham, he looks as if he’s tools down and not bothered. I think when Celtic get the squad back then it’s going to be close. Neil [Lennon] doesn’t have a great squad, but in terms of Scottish football, Celtic’s squad is as good as any so they’ve just got to get on with it and go on a run.”

Although we would agree that Ntcham could have played better in the second half of the game, overall it was up to Neil Lennon to spot that the midfielder was needing to maybe be taken off, there was players on the bench that could have came on a did the job just as easily.

Ntcham is something of an enigma at the moment as we all know how lethal his agility can be and the impact he can have on a game, but in some matches he can be a bit of a passenger and that’s what Celtic fans have seen in recent games.

For me there are other options at the moment and maybe Neil Lennon will switch it up in the next game and allow Ntcham to realise that he’s not an instant starter if he can’t perform every game for the Scottish Champions.
