Celtic are set to welcome back Jack Hendry from his loan period at Belgian club Oostende after a very successful spell.

The Scotland player will return to Glasgow along with the rest of his fellow Celtic players in time for their meet up with new manager Ange Postecoglou.

There have been rumours going around online that Oostende were going to activate their clause to buy the defender for around £1.6 million.

It looks as though Oostende are finding it difficult to source the funds to complete the transfer and as it stands Hendry remains a Celtic player.

One of our sources have claimed that although the Hoops player loved his time in Belgium, Hendry has issues with some of his squad members that made some situations uncomfortable.

According to some press releases, it could be said that Hendry would relish another shot at earning a first team spot within Celtic and Postecoglou’s rebuild at the club.

We were in contact with Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur who said:

“Jack Hendry was brilliant last season in Belgium and K.V. Oostende were eager to activate the buy clause that they had with Celtic”

“The club are finding it hard financially as do many other clubs around the world due to the pandemic”

“For now the defender will head back to Celtic and prepare for the new season, Hendry seemed to not get along with some of his squad back in Belgium, but maybe a deal can still be done”
