Wanyama Makes Celtic "Unfinished Business" Promise
Victor Wanyama has claimed that the former Celtic hero still has unfinished business in Glasgow despite moving to the MLS as the 28 year old wants to end his career with the Scottish champions.
The big Kenyan midfielder ended his 4 and a half year stint at Spurs this year and moved to the MLS to team up with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry at Montreal Impact.
Neil Lennon had name dropped Wanyama a few times this season and stated he would love to sign the powerhouse for a second time.
But in reality, Wanyama was on big wages and Celtic couldn’t afford that chunk of change, they would be better off saving big wages and trying to keep a hold of Edouard.
The former Celt spoke to the Athletic:
“They need to let you grow and achieve what you want.
“But I want to play for Celtic again before I finish. I have unfinished business there. I love that club.”
The Kenyan admits he wasn’t a popular face in Govan after a snap of him appearing to lap up the Ibrox side in peril outside Parkhead.
“I came out of the stadium after one game and my car was not there. Fans came to me and asked for pictures.
“They asked me to hold some boards for the pictures. I did not look at them before I held them up.
“I saw the pictures the next day and the boards I were holding had ‘RIP Rangers’ and ‘Bye Bye Rangers’ on them.
“As you can imagine I was the enemy number one of the Rangers fans after that.”
Opinion Time
We all want to see the big Kenyan back in a Hoops top and at 28 years old there’s still plenty of time for Wanyama to make that long waited return to Glasgow.
Maybe Wanyama will be here for 10 in a row, who knows.
